There has been an unexpected delay in the release of the Puzzle EP. This EP will be released at a later date, hopefully by the end of this year. In the meantime, OPIUM is still writing new songs for the second album, hoping to release it some time during 2007.

Opium remixes the synthpop band Leiahdorus and contributes a remix to their Indigent MCD. The "Puzzle" MCD is being delayed for a few weeks. A remix for "Torch of Love" will replace the B-side we were planning to include.

December
4 new songs have been recorded during a session that took place in Natanya, Israel. Ilya stayed in Israel for 3 weeks, during which, in addition to these recordings, video footage was shot for the track "Torch of Love". Unfortunately, a live performance could not be arranged.

October
In the middle of October, Iliya, the vocalist, is planned to arrive to Israel. New songs are about to be recorded, and a possible live performance may be arranged in Tel Aviv in November.

Exclusive remixes of “Faked Emotions” and “Too Much to Handle” are going to be released soon on two compilations by A Different Drum and Synthphony
The remixes were done by Freddy Hajas, a talented musician from Rio.

The album was released on the 24th of July. Release parties are planned both in Israel and in Russia. Several interiews and compilation contributions will follow. We hope you're enjoying the album :)

The first 500 copies of the debut album Too Many Miles between Us will be released in a limited edition of a double CD. In addition to the album, the bonus CD will include remixes and a bonus track called "surface". click here for the bonus cd track list.
The CD layout has been finalized, and now we are at the stage of final mastering of the album tracks. It now appears that the cd will finally be released during the Summer of 2004.

Opium signs with "A different drum" - the label and distributor based in the US. The album's title is: "Too Many Miles between Us" (ADDCD1174). More updates - soon...

Opium is close to signing with a major synthpop label. It seems likely that by the album will be released some time next year. In addition, it appears that a 500 special edition double-cd will be produced, including the album and a remix cd. Check out the music section for new songs and remixes.

"Baby Max" , a talented keyboard player and remixer joins Opium to give the demos 'new life'. The results are currently introduced to several labels, hopefully in the attempt to reach an agreement which will enable us to spread our music further.

2 demo cd singles have been finalized. The first one is for Perfect Stranger featuring 4 remixes, including one by Dark Distant Spaces and a b-side track called "Surface".
The second cd single is of the track New Reality which includes a remix done by Floating Point, as well as some other bonuses.

An early version of the track New reality is released on the Lexicon Magazine cd sampler. The sampler also features bands like "The Cruxshadows", "Color Theory" and "Echoing Green".
